The Mayor of Richwood, West Virginia is in jail and facing criminal charges.
West Virginia State Police say 65-year old John D. McClung is charged with fraudulent schemes and improper use of town monies.
Troopers say this arrest comes from a larger investigation that began back in November of 2011 following a referral from the West Virginia Ethics Commission.
The investigation continues and McClung may face additional charges. He will be in Nicholas County Court for his preliminary hearing next week.
