An Oak Hill man is caught running a pornographic website after handing out fake checks in Fayette County.
According to a release from the Fayette Sheriff, 34-year old Melvin Lee Romeo allegedly issued checks ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 dollars to purchase a local night club and mobile home. Those checks were returned as fraudulent and drawn against an account that doesn't exist.
Deputies arrested Romeo at a motel in the Oak Hill area on Tuesday night. During the investigation, deputies found that Romeo was also operating an internet pornography business and had been soliciting individuals from Fayette County to serve as performers in the pornographic videos, which were distributed through his website.
Right now Romeo is charged with 5 counts of uttering counterfeit checks, but more charges are expected to be filed.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. If you have any information, call Fayette County deputies at 304-574-4216.
