A former Lincoln County assessor who plead guilty to federal vote buying charges has his eyes back on politics.
Democrat Jerry Weaver is running for Lincoln County sheriff.
Weaver and former Circuit Clerk Greg Stowers were convicted of trying to influence voters for 12 years.
Weaver spent a year in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges in 2005.
Since Weaver is a felon, there are questions as to whether he can legally run for office.
