Kentucky State Police have made an arrest in connection with a vehicle crash that killed a Pike County Deputy.
David Childers is charged with the murder of Pike County Deputy James Thacker.
Troopers say Childers' car crossed the center line on Route 460 in the Belcher area, and hit Thacker's cruiser earlier this week.
We now know the name of the Kentucky Sheriff's deputy killed in a three car crash Monday evening.
According to a release from the Pike County Sheriff's Department, 53-year old Deputy James Thacker of Elkhorn City died in that accident.
It happened just after 9 Monday night along US 460 in the Belcher community of Pike in Kentucky. We're told vehicle traveling westbound -- crossed the center line -- striking Thacker's cruiser. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Others involved in the crash were not seriously hurt. No charges have been filed as of yet.

A sheriff's deputy died after a car crash Monday night.
Deputies tell us it happened around 9pm between the Belcher and Marrowbone communities of Pike county.
We're told the name of the deputy is not being released at this time, pending family notification. Details of the crash have not been released just yet.
