Kanawha County detectives have called off the search effort in Ohio to find remains of an Institute woman murdered last week.
Search crews spent the last few days searching some 40 miles of roadside in West Virginia and Ohio, but did not locate the remains of Carol Rhim. She was murdered and dismembered by her boyfriend, Nathaniel Lawton in Institute.
The search for the remains of Carol Rhim has been terminated in Ohio only. Detectives followed up on two leads Monday morning in Kanawha County which
also ended in negative results.
Detectives say if they are contacted regarding a lead or tip in Ohio or another location, they will respond, or contact appropriate authorities in that area.
Detectives are asking for your help as they believe the remains may be in a black plastic trash bag. If you spot a bag or anything that may help, call your local police.

Sunday marked day three of the search for the remains of Carol Rhim's body.
Earlier this week, Rhim was murdered then dismembered by her boyfriend, Nathaniel Lawton in Institute.
Kanawha Sheriff Deputies along with ten members of the West Virginia K-9 Search and Rescue team combed over a 30 mile stretch of Rt. 35 in Ohio.
Chief Deputy John Rutherford said crews were looking in ditches and swamps next to the road for remains or any evidence that would help police learn more about the crime.
"Each vehicle is stopping every tenth of a mile trying to find evidence," Rutherford said.
Crews called off the search in the night time hours. They will continue their search Monday morning.
