West Virginia University are the winners and the air inside the Charleston Civic Center was dense with excitement, as the Mountaineer Men's Basketball team tipped off in the Capital Classic Wednesday night.
Officials say sold out crowds are the norm for this in-state rivalry.
For Marshall fan Amanda Branch, it was all about seeing the rival game one last time.
"It's my last year, I want to see a win," Branch said.
Whether Green and White, or Gold and Blue, thousands showed up to root on their team.
