We recently told you about a military widow whose wedding rings were returned after being stolen three weeks before Christmas. Today we have a similar happy story. Only this time a woman lost her wedding rings at a recycling center... Never imagining she'd get them back... But as eyewitness news anchor Deborah Linz tells us... Thanks to some good Samaritans... She did.
Last Friday...Tabitha Smith came to the green lights recycling center on Bigley Avenue in Charleston to drop off some items.
Tabitha married just six years lost her three thousand dollar wedding ring somewhere on ground at the recycling center... She later returned with her husband to view surveillance video.
That person who picked up the ring....about two hours after Tabitha dropped it...was Linda Santrock.
Linda and her husband Dave took the ring home...they say they planned to put an ad in the paper. They also called police but didn't have much luck finding the ring's owner.
Then this morning... Dave called the recycling center hoping to get Tabitha’s phone number.
A short time later... The Santrocks met Tabitha at the recycling center to return her ring.
Tabitha says this experience has reinforced her faith in the human spirit.
The Santrocks had contacted the police department when they found the ring, but police said to find the owner would be like finding a needle in the haystack, fortunately for Tabitha the Santrocks didn't give up.
