Charleston police are searching for the people responsible for shooting at a house and a car on the city's west side Sunday afternoon. Nobody was injured.
Dispatchers say they got a report of shots fired around 1:30pm. It happened at 305 1/2 Maryland Street. Police say they found several bullet holes in the house and a car parked nearby.
Lt. Steve Cooper says police detained a group of people and tested them for gun residue. No arrests were made, but they do have a suspect in mind. Police say not only did they find bullets inside the victim's house but also drug residue.
Folks who live nearby say it's been a while since they've had similar incidents in that part of the westside, that's why they were surprised to hear the shots ring out.
