NO SERIOUS INJURIES Garbage Truck, Fuel Tanker Involved In Pileup On U.S. 52 In Ohio

We're learning more about the pileup that shut down part of U.S. 52 in Ironton, Ohio Monday afternoon.
According to a release from Rumpke Corporate Communications, a Rumpke garbage truck along with five other vehicles were involved in that crash.
The accident happened just after 2pm in the Westbound lanes of U.S. 52 between Coal Grove and Ironton, Ohio. Thankfully, only minor injuries were reported.
Numerous emergency crews including the Coal Grove Police and Fire Departments, Ironton Police Department, and Ohio State Highway Patrol all responded to the scene. The westbound lanes of of U.S. 52 remain opened once crews cleared the mess.

If you're planning to take U.S. 52 through the Ironton, Ohio area, you might want to take another route. Dispatchers say an accident involving at least four vehicles happened early Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 52 between Ironton and Coal Grove.
We're told a garbage truck and a fuel tanker are two of the vehicles that crashed. No word on any injuries, but the road is shut down at this time. You're asked to avoid the area while crews clear the scene.
