A Norfolk Southern train carrying coal derailed just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning at the crossing on Route 37 near East Lynn.
Wayne County dispatchers say multiple cars ran off the track but none overturned. No one was hurt in the accident but traffic is being detoured in the area.
Railroad crews are on the scene working to reopen the road.
