A Sissonville father and son are lucky to be alive after a very frightening boating accident along the Kanawha River Thursday night.
It happened around 10p.m. near Haddad Riverfront Park. We're told the men had just cut the engine to begin fishing when a huge barge came straight at them.
The men jumped into the water, and tried to swim to the shore; at one point the father said he was underneath the barge.
But the two made it safely to land and watched as the barge hit their boat and pushed it more than 200 yards.
The names of the victims have not been released yet.
