A Beckley man was killed in a crash early Thursday morning on U-S 19 in Fayette County.
The sheriff says it appears excessive speed and alcohol played a role in the crash in Hilltop.
John Scarbrough died after losing control of his car.
He was driving southbound, rolled twice and slid several hundred feet before stopping on the northbound shoulder.
