St. Albans police are beefing up the force, and they say it will help fight the war on drugs and crime.
Two new officers were sworn in by Mayor Richard Callaway Friday morning at city hall. New recruits Michael Dolin and Kenny Davis bring the department to full staff at 21 officers. They've had two retire, one resign, and one be called up to active military duty in the past several months.
Dolin and Davis have been through rigorous testing, but the guys say it's a dream come true to finally get to this stage.
Davis is from Clay county, and says he's wanted to be a police officer for as long as he can remember.
Chief Joe Crawford says they're excited to get the them through training and out on the streets.
They'll start the West Virginia State Police Academy next month, and should be ready to get on the job by December.
