On July 24th Jennifer Rollins life changed forever.

Jennifer says, "My friends and I were walking along and laughing, having a good time and next thing I know I'm in an ambulance with Aaron over top of me."

Jennifer was walking down Grandview Ridge Road in Red House when ex-Pagan gang member, Donnie Workman, allegedly hit her with his truck while he was drunk.

Jennifer says, "He threw me and I landed in the ditch and it knocked both my shoes off my feet."

Wednesday, Jennifer returned home after spending a month in multiple hospitals.

Her husband, Aaron, says, "They took her spleen out, her liver was lacerated, and she had 86 staples in her stomach."

Jen says, "A lot of times my family didn't think I would make it."

Aaron grew up knowing Workman and his family.

Aaron says, "I spoke to him days before this happened and his mom and dad are the best. But as far as I'm concerned it's not forgivable."

Jennifer says, "His parents are great people and they're heartbroken, but I'm not mad. I'm really not. I've prayed about it and I've given it to the Lord."

Jennifer's road to recovery will be a long one.

Aaron says, "One minute she'll be okay and the next she's in pain crying."

But Jennifer says it's amazing how the community has reached out to help.

Jennifer says, "Smith Concrete donated concrete to put around my house so my wheelchair wouldn't go in gravel."

Aaron adds. "Allen Roth from Poca built a ramp around the back of the house."

Friends have organized a benefit to help Rollins pay her bills and rock group Nickelback has reached out, by donating an autographed guitar.

Jennifer says, "My best friend in high school, her husband is a chef for Nickelback, and when they found out they were very glad to sign it and send it to us."

But for now it's one day at a time.

Jennifer says, "My goals really are just to do daily living things and be able to get myself better so I can take care of my family."

Jennifer's Benefit will be held at the Rock Branch Independent Church Activities Building Saturday, July 24th.
