Fans of the Blue and Gold were pumped to watch their #2 seed Mountaineers battle it out against #10 ranked Missouri.
"I'm really excited," Jordan Pauley said. "I think the Mountaineers have a legitimate chance of making a national championship run this year."
Some of the faithful flocked to sports bars like Murads to watch WVU fight for a spot in the Sweet 16.
"[I've] been a Mountaineer fan my whole life and it is nice that we are starting to get a little national recognition," Chris Tanzey said.
Recognition some fans feel can go a long way in defeating the state's undeserved reputation.
"We are one of the most under recognized, under appreciated states in the Union," Pauley said. "A lot of people don't even know West Virginia exists. They think we are western Virginia. This is good for us to be in the national spotlight."
Excitement, pride, and confidence, for fans the Mountaineers are winners, no matter what.
