Kanawha County Sheriff deputies are investigating a murder suicide.
It happened on Springfork Drive in Campbells Creek shortly after 10:30 Friday night. Sources familiar with the investigation say Leonard Hicks shot his wife, 39 year old Anita Hicks, and then shot himself in the head.
Mrs. Hicks died at the scene. Mr. Hicks was taken to CAMC General where he died Saturday afternoon.
The question on the mind of friends and family; why?
"Disbelief, disbelief," Chris Shinault said. "I couldn't believe Leonard would do this."
Neighbors said the couple has two teenage sons. One of them was at a church retreat at the time of the shooting. Sources say the other found his parents.
Friends and neighbors say the Hick are a good Christian family. Now they are trying to deal with this tragedy, they never saw coming.
