Two dogs left for dead get a new "leash" on life.
They've found a new home, in a family dedicated to bettering the lives of animals in need.
Now living a life of leisure, a Putnam County family adopted Marlow and Zeus. Nearly 2 months ago, humane officers found the dogs bound with heavy chains, left in the cold woods for dead. They were taken to the Kanawha Charleston Humane society but no one was adopting them.
Perry Estep and his family watched the report we did here on Eyewitness News on the abuse the dogs endured. Already the owners of numerous rescued dogs, they made room for two more.
Marlo and Zeus live in Putnam County where there is no tethering law.
Here in Kanawha County, the "Linz Law" is in place making it illegal to continually chain dogs outside for longer than 15 minutes.
