RIVER FORECASTSfrom Eyewitness News Online Projected River Crests For The Next Few Days

Here are the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service. These rivers will all approach flood stage within the next 48 hours.
Creeks and streams will continue to run high across the region, and cause backwater problems. There are no water gauges on those so it is hard to predict when they will crest. All forecasts are as of 3:15pm Saturday. Coal River: - Tornado, WV - As of 1:30am water level was 21.48ft. Forecast crest of 24ft (Action Stage), Saturday 7pm Kanawha River: - Charleston, WV - As of 12pm water level was 26ft. Forecast crest of 29.2ft (Action Stage), Sunday at 1am Ohio River: - Ashland, KY - As of 12pm water level was 40.64ft. Forecast crest of 53ft (Flood Stage), Tuesday at 1pm - Greenup, KY - As of 12pm water level was 28.92ft. Forecast crest of 53.4ft (Action Stage), Tuesday at 7pm. - Huntington, WV - As of 1pm water level was 37.12ft. Forecast crest of 50.1ft (Flood Stage), Tuesday at 1pm - Point Pleasant - As of 1pm water level was 34.79ft. Forecast crest of 44.5ft (Moderate Flood Stage), Tuesday at 7am - Racine Lock - As of 11am water level was 29.92ft. Forecast crest of 39.2ft (Action Stage), Tuesday at 7am - Robert C. Byrd Lock - As of 7am water level was 34.9ft. Forecast crest of 49ft (Action Stage), Tuesday at 7am - Portsmouth, OH - As of 1pm water level was 37.7ft.
