One person is missing and believed to be dead after flooding in southern West Virginia.
Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper says the man is a Kanawha County firefighter who was attempting a water rescue in the Beaver area of Raleigh County. The man fell into the water when his boat capsized. His body has not been found. "They are hoping they can find him. We have several agencies out there looking for him," Carper said. The man's name is not being released; however Carper says the victim is a member of the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department. Two other firefighters were in the boat when it capsized. They are recovering in the hospital. Rescue crews are also trying to recover the body of an unidentified woman who died in the high water. The Register-Herald says the woman was swept away while attempting to walk through swift water crossing Beechview Avenue, which runs between Maple Fork Road and North Sandbranch Road near Bradley.
