A snow melt swollen Elk River roared through Webster Springs as a mountain meltdown reached even the big drifts of snow in the West Virginia mountains. Residents are concerned if overnight rains will make this a serious flood. They're watching. There's still a lot of snow left in places like the top of Point Mountain, but it was 50 degrees at mid-afternoon and that snow too is going into the snow melt mix. In Randolph County, areas below 2000 feet that were a winter wonderland Wednesday were just very wetlands Friday. Flood warnings are in effect for sections of the Cheat, Greenbrier and Tygart Rivers due to melting snow and expected rain.
