Some West Virginia soldiers are recognized for their recent rescue efforts.
The Governor and State lawmaker honored members of the National Guard and Airmen at the State Capitol just a short time ago.
They helped rescue the 17 people that were aboard the Navy helicopter that crashed in Pocahontas County last month.
Lawmakers will also recognized guardsmen who made homemade snowshoes out of pine branches and clothes line and hiked about three miles through heavy snow drifts to rescue a Morgan County mother and her 4-week-old baby.
