Cabell County's expanded smoking ban won't be enforced until Tuesday, but several business owners say they're already feeling the effects.
Cricket Hudson owns the Downstreet bar in Huntington and says this past weekend was the worst for business in it's six year history.
She says her customers are all going down the street to Wayne County where you can still smoke indoors. "I don't think we're going to be able to make it if business doesn't pick up. Four days now we've been down and its been pretty bad."
Teresa Boggs owns B-T's Lounge just down the road on Route 60 in Westmoreland and says she's seen new customers because they can smoke in Wayne County. "My clientele is up 40% in the past two days."
Hudson plans to build an outdoor smoking area, but feels it may be too little too late.
Businesses caught violating the smoking ban face a fine up to $1000 and loss of their liquor license.
