Good news is coming to some General Motors dealers this week, as the company announces it will reinstate franchises for 661 dealerships.
At least two GM dealers is West Virginia have been told their franchise with the company will not be terminated in October.
Last year, more than 1,100 dealerships were notified they would no longer have ties to GM starting October 2010.
About 25 dealerships in West Virginia are estimated to have gotten those letters last year, but that information wasn't required to be made public.
Executive director of the West Virginia Automobile and Truck Dealers Association Ruth Lemmon says they don't know exactly what the details of the reinstatement is yet, but those dealers will just take things one step at a time to get things back in order.
Lemmon says, "We've fought the bailouts, we've fought the loss of the dealerships, we've fought the recalls, and to have a few folks call and say 'I got my franchise back', is just absolutely wonderful."
Letters notifying dealerships of a possible reinstatement should reach those businesses by Wednesday.
