Ice, snow and rain turned the morning commute into an accident-packed event around Kanawha County Tuesday morning.
25 weather-related crashes were reported to 9-1-1 around the county.
Cars had difficulty finding traction on Doc Bailey Road in Cross Lanes.
Only about an inch of snow fell, but when temperatures warmed a little and rain began falling drivers had serious trouble with the slushy roads surface.
Most of the crashes were fender benders, but more serious accidents were also reported.
The area around Campbells Creek and U-S Route 60 was hard hit.
Multiple wrecks were reported.
Accidents were also reported on Interstate 64, 77 and 79 in the Charleston area.
The afternoon may see a little brake, but much of what's on the road may re-freeze overnight and be capped by new snow.
And wet roadways always pose some dangers for cars hydroplaning.
