DuPont says its Belle plant will voluntarily remain off line to allow its inspectors to make sure that the plant will operate safely.
A company spokesperson says that DuPont has made progress in conducting those plant-wide safety checks.
DuPont says it may be able to restart production later this week, once all of those checks are finished.
The company idled the plant following three chemical leaks and eventually the death of plant employee Carl Fish in January.
Federal and state officials are also assessing safety procedures at the facility.
