"I had to wipe everything down that still smells like soot," James Kinner said. "I don't know how I'm going to get the soot out of everything."
"There's so much water damage," Corner Diner Owner, Mickey Brown, said. "I lost my computer system, my camera system and my grills...everything's going to have to be replaced."
But Brown, as well as other tenants living in the apartment building that caught fire early Tuesday morning in Coal Grove, Ohio, say replacing everything is a small price to pay, but nonetheless, is difficult.
"It's lots of cleaning and lots of heartache," Kinner said.
Fire fighters believe the blaze was an accident, saying it might have been started by a candle in one of the apartments.
The owner of the building says crews are now working as hard as they can, as fast as they can, trying to get the establishment back up-and-running.
He also says he's grateful that everyone made it out safe and sound.
"Everybody has animals that live here," Kinner said. "Everybody's animals got out OK, but we were just scrambling."
"Sometime the price of just a little smoke alarm, $5-$6, is just so crucial to have," building owner, Michael Emnett, said. "Everybody did get out safe and that's the most important thing."
Now the most important thing is to get the homes, as well as the connected barber shop and Corner Diner back in business as soon as possible.
