The days of smoking in Cabell County bars and gaming parlors may soon come to an end.
The Cabell Huntington Health Department wants to extend its Clean Indoor Air Regulation to include all public places, including bars, clubs and gaming parlors.
Dr. Harry Tweel says the expansion is needed to protect people from the effects of second hand smoke.
Many businesses Eyewitness News spoke to say if the smoke gets put out, their business may have to close because of a loss of business.
Jimmy Kearns from American Legion Post 16 in Huntington says, "If you have smoking at your lounge, put a sign on your door, and if someone doesn't smoke and don't want to come in where they're smoking, they don't have to."
