David Kidd is on a call in St. Albans outside his normal response area. A woman is experiencing respiratory failure. She's unresponsive, unconscious, and turning purple.
Once they get a tube down her throat to help her breathe she comes to, and begins fighting the help she desperately needs.
The woman is given medicine that will not only sedate her, it will also paralyze her so she won't fight the tube, or the men and women working to save her life.
Meanwhile close to Corridor G in South Charleston medics are trying to help a man who has had an accident working on a backhoe.
The man's family has driven him down Rable Mountain so EMS and firefighters can get to him more easily, but it's still a task.
The medics have cleaned most of the blood off the man but he appears to have mutliple lacerations and possible head and neck injuries.
To properly treat the patient he's going to need an IV.; something he's very vocal about not wanting.
After a little coaxing the patient does take the needle and the medics remind him, things could always be worse.
