West Virginia school boards may not get any temporary help with retirement-related costs from the Legislature.
The Senate Finance Committee voted Wednesday to reject Gov. Joe Manchin's special session proposal to allow them a partial, one-year reprieve from other Post-Employment Benefit costs.
Committee members instead want to seek a long-term solution during next year's regular session.
The costs mostly reflect health coverage promised workers once they retire.
