Barbara Workman comes to the Charleston Veterans Day parade each year. Her brother Marshall King died at war in 1945, and she says it's important that she keeps his memory alive. She came out Wednesday morning with her family, including her two-year-old great-grandson Chase. They taught him how to wave the flag at veterans who passed by on Virginia Street.

She's also here to honor vets like Gary Wood, who spent ten years in the Air Force. Wood's wife is also in the West Virginia National Guard, and has spent recent tours overseas. He brought his family along to pay their respects to veterans. He says freedom isn't free, and it's good that people take time out to recognize all the sacrifices veterans have made for our country.

Workman and Wood joined hundreds to line the streets of downtown Charleston for one the oldest Veterans Day parades in the country. The bands marched, people waved their flags and gave a respectful salute to the vets who fought and are still fighting for our country's freedom.
