South Charleston boys basketball coach Bobby Dawson has retired after 24 seasons that included 11 state tournament appearances.
Dawson went 395-165 and coached the Black Eagles to runner-up finishes in the Class AAA tournament the past three seasons.
South Charleston lost to Martinsburg 53-52 in the title game in March.
Kanawha County's school system posted an opening for the job Tuesday on its Web site.
