A suspect is in Charleston Police custody after leading police on a chase.
The chase started just before 10 this morning when the driver a stolen vehicle, Ezra Lambert, headed down I-64 West out of Charleston.
South Charleston Police LT. Hugh Leishman tried to block Lambert on MacCorkle Avenue, but even that didn't work. Leishman says the suspect rammed into his cruiser before continuing on.
A Charleston Officer put out spikes in an attempt to flatten Lambert's tires. The chase came to an end just past Kanawha Turnpike. Lambert was taken into custody.
Police tell Eyewitness News Lambert was drunk and on parole. Now, he is facing charges of fleeing DUI causing injury.
Lt. Leishman went to the hospital to be checked out, he says his neck is sore but expects to be fine.
