A new chapter in the story surrounding the shooting deaths of a Charleston police officer and the suspect he was chasing.
On Friday the suspect's mother, Patricia Harrison filed a lawsuit against the city of Charleston. The complaint says police should have stopped the chase and not fired their weapons on the night of September 13 when Brian Good and Patrolman Jerry Jones were killed. In prior interviews with Eyewitness news Harrison said, " They didn't have to kill my little boy. They killed him becuase they were mad and I will never stop trying to prove that. Never."
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department and Prosecutor's Office cleared Charleston police of any criminal wrongdoing. Mayor Danny Jones said, " I personally have no interest in settling this case. We're ready to go to court. If they're going to file a lawsuit. I want to see a jury decide."
