As more information comes to light on the shooting inside an army base, local veterans are speaking out on the tragedy.
Friday US Military officials said, Major Nidal Malik Hasan is on a ventilator at a Texas hospital,
Wounded civilian police sergeant Kimberly Munley is being herald as a hero for stopping Hasan after he allegedly opened fire on fellow soldiers at Fort Hood. Hasan is accused of killing 13 people and injuring at least 28 others during a shooting rampage Thursday afternoon. Local veterans said those bullets wounded more than just people on post. Vietnam Veteran, Don Simmons said, " I was devastated. We got people dying everyday but when it happens here at home it's different."
The President ordered all flags to fly at half staff until veterans day in honor of the fallen soldiers at ft. hood.
