In the past, the eastern part of Kanawha County has proved to bring out the pranksters for Halloween, and that's why the sheriff's department is out in full force for trick or treat.
"We have a minimum of five or six assigned to this area, but there could be up to ten." says Deputy, P.D. Hodge.
The Cabin Creek area has been notorious for setting fires and cutting down trees to block the road. That's why Hodge has come prepared.
"We usually take chainsaws with us on Halloween if they're available. From my experience in the past, they've always done the tree thing and if they have a chance they'll set them on fire." says Hodge.
But trees and fires aren't the only thing Hodge is on the lookout for tonight. He has to make one man dressed as former president pour out his beer and he questions others that look suspicious. Also, radio calls go out warning deputies of egg throwers.
Hodge says they're not out to ruin people's fun. They just want everyone to safe.
"I've seen and heard of these innocent pranks turning into people getting seriously hurt. Whether it's a tree falling on their car or them running their vehicle into a roadblock that's on fire. That's not innocent fun at all from my standpoint." says Hodge.
