"I think we are at the best area that we believe now that Samantha Burns could possibly be," Monica Caison said. "And we will do everything we can to unearth this area to make sure we haven't missed anything."

A few months ago, Caison, the founder of Community United Effort, was in Wayne County searching for the remains of 19-year-old Samantha Burns. Now they're back with new information.

"I've had about 15 hours plus conversation with Mr. Fulks," she said.

She's referring to Chadrick Fulks, who along with Brandon Basham, have pleaded guilty for the death of Burns. It happened back in 2002. The time difference is what Caison calls the worst obstacle.

"We're trying to look at the property in his map, what it would have been in 2002, certainly this terrain changed here in 2003 and changed again in 2007.

On Saturday, crews returned to an area just off of Route 75 in Wayne County, near Lavalette.

"It gets discouraging to come and not find anything," Burns' cousin, Tom Adkins, said. "The only way we lose is if we quit. We keep going, hope that one day something's going to show up."

Adkins says the family is thankful that Fulks is trying to help in finding Burns' remains, especially since the duos other victim, 44-year-old Alice Donovan was found back in January, all thanks to his tips.

"It was a little more hope when they found Donovan," Adkins said. "But if it hadn't been for him in the first place, families wouldn't be doing what they're doing."

And what they're doing is trying to find closure. In order to do that, Caison says they will spend as much time as needed on site.
