The town of Pratt will be making a big decision on the future of its water and sewage system. The council will vote on whether or not to turn over operations to the Chelyan Public Service District (PSD).
Pratt has had ongoing financial and maintenance problems with its water and sewer services. Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper said over the years town leaders have resisted efforts to merge the system with another PSD. Carper recently asked the Public Service Commission to take over the system because he said the problems aren't getting fixed.
"This isn't working," he said. "Something needs to change."
