Charleston will soon have be new, greener landscape.
Construction is underway on the Gateway Greenspace. Just across the street from the Clay Center this project is part of efforts to provide more green open areas downtown. It will also provide education programming opportunities for children.
The parks terraces were designed to represent the Appalachian Mountain. It will be landscaped with native plants. The design also calls for a system to capture and reuse rain water to supply stream and pool features in the park.
