As the song "God Bless the USA" goes, the flag stands for freedom, and on this Independence Day some people are expressing their freedom...and expressing their frustrations.
"We're frustrated with the taxes, we're frustrated with the lack of representation we feel like we have," Marty Davis said.
Davis says President Barack Obama's administration is spending too much money with bailouts and stimulus packages. So in protest, he and about a hundred others, had a tea party.
"It's an uncommon protest to let people know we feel like our country's off-track, and we're trying to bring it back on track," he said.
"We're trying to make people informed so they know what to expect, they know what's coming and know what the government's trying to do," Jackie Courts said.
But this tea party didn't consist of dressing up like indians and throwing tea into the Boston Harbor. But it did consist of posters, signs and other people who say they are "taxed enough already," and they hope this demonstration opens the eyes of those who they elect.
"It does make a difference, it does," Courts said. "Even though Washington may not be listening, the people of America are listening."
As for Davis, he's relying on an old saying by George Washington.
"We have given you the Constitution, and a nation built on freedom, it's up to you all to keep it," he said.
