Former Logan County Delegate Joe C. Ferrell faced a judge Tuesday morning.
Ferrell pleaded not guilty to a 48 count indictment on charges of illegal gambling, bribery and vote buying.
The former delegate wouldn't comment on the charges to our camera, and said little to the federal magistrate.
Ferrell operates a video lottery machine leasing business, Southern Amusement Company of Logan, which the FBI raided in 2005.
The indictment accuses the former Logan County Delegate of seeking office to protect the business by influencing legislation concerning video lottery machines.
He allegedly bribed a lottery inspector, Logan's mayor and a Logan County Sheriff-elect
Ferrell is out on bond and will go to trial on the charges August 24th.
