Mudslides, flooded homes, and thousands of dollars in damage. People living in the Hillside Drive area of Nitro say an energy company is to blame.
Tuesday night, community members came together in Nitro for a meeting to discuss their concerns with the energy company's owner.
Community members say the rushing water and mud is coming from a mountain located behind Hillside Drive in Nitro.
Tom White, DW Energy's owner, says he doesn't feel his company is responsible and that what's happening is a result of nature.
Yet, community members say they are struggling to survive.
The city engineer is scheduled to inspect White's companies work on top of the hill by the end of next week, to figure out whether or not these problems are a result of nature or man.
