Police are still investigating but they are now saying they believe alcohol may have played a part in this alleged accident.
Search crews have been out most of the evening searching for a 14 year old boy that disappeared into the Kanawha River.
It happened around 5:30 Friday evening in Eleanor.
Witnesses at the scene identify the teenager as 14 year old Cody Priestly.
Along with county deputies and state police, fire departments and search crews from St. Albans, Eleanor, Buffalo, Leon, and Winfield were all looking for Priestly. Onlookers say Cody disappeared into the water behind Meadows Body Shop in Midway after swimming with a friend.
The search was called off for the night because the current in the elevated river is too strong for divers. A state police helicopter was on scene as well.
Hundreds of people kept showing up to the scene consoling one another, but most questions remain unanswered.
