Buffalo alum, Katie Pack, says she's hoping to see her old high school become brand new.
"It's a good school but the school itself has things beyod repair." says Pack.
And if the upcoming school bond passes the 58 year old Buffalo High School may finally get more than a makeover.
"Near the last day of school they hadned out fliers saying this is what the new school would be." says Buffalo junior, Matthew Pack.
Land was bought for the new school years ago, but the thought of consolidation has stalled support for past school bonds.
Katie says, "They've been so scared of consolidation. We're small, but tight knit, and we like that about oruselves."
Buffalo Counselor, Michelle Johnson says, "The communtiy really needs this school. Buffalo High School is the heart of Buffalo."
And even though the school has just under 280 students, they feel they should get just as much as other Putnam County schools.
Buffalo senior, Tyler Clendenin, says, "We're the only school in the county without a commons. We're the only school with a cafeteria. No one pays that much attention to us, but we really are a great school."
And Katie Pack adds when the ballot is ready, the Bison can count on her vote.
Buffalo High School is not the only one that could be getting a brand new school if this bond passes. Poca and Winfield Middle will both be getting brand new schools, and so will Confidence Elementary.
Hurricane, Poca, and Winfield High Schools will also be getting auxiliary gyms. With 200 bleacher seats.
Winfield Elementary will be getting a new storage area. And Poca Elementary will add on four new classrooms.
That school bond will come to a vote in just a few months on August 29, 2009.
