A line of severe storms ripped through the region Saturday evening, prompting dozens of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and even a Tornado Warning.
Large hail fell across Cabell, Lincoln, Boone and Kanawha Counties in West Virginia and across most of Southern Ohio and Eastern Kentucky. Several reports were of ice stones 1"-2" in diameter. The hail also shattered several wind shields in Huntington and covered yards, turning green grass into white ice.
A funnel cloud was reported in East Lynn around 8:15pm, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Tornado Warning for Wayne, Cabell, Lincoln and Boone Counties. A funnel cloud is a rotating column of wind that does not touch the ground.
