Starting next week, Charleston drivers will need to get ready for some detours and possible delays.
The city is getting ready to begin fixing two major bridges this summer.
The South Side bridge and the Kanawha Boulevard bridge over the Elk River is getting a makeover.
Kanawha Boulevard will be closed for most of the summer -- up to 80 days. Once the work starts -- Clendenin to Pennsylvania avenue will be closed.
The South Side bridge will remain open throughout the repairs.
