It was a wet and wild commute for some drivers near Dunlow in Wayne County Monday morning.
Others didn't want to chance driving through high water and getting stuck.
The sound of vehicles backing up was an all too familiar sound on West Mud River Road in Cabell County Monday. One school bus had to take two students who live on the road back to school after the water proved to be too dangerous to drive through.
"We're used to it," Libby Black said. "Used to the water getting in, we just prepare to stay in a couple days."
Black says this area near Milton is notorious for flooding.
"Came down to my parents and ran in, ran out," she said. "And when I got back down, it was already across the driveway. It's a hassle, it's not that deep right now, but in the low places it does get pretty deep."
But deep water is not her only concern.
"My parents are elderly," she said. "I hate to leave them behind the water because you never know what's going to happen."
Now her family is doing the only thing they can...waiting for the water to go back down.
