After two failed pregnancies, Dawn Knisley is glad to finally be a mother.
"I didn't ever think I could actually have kids," Knisley said. "We had so many problems. But I'm glad, it took a long time, but she's here."
And her bundle of joy, Keagan.
Coming in at seven pounds, 10 ounces and 21 inches long New Year's Day at Cabell Huntington Hospital around 6:30 am.
Knisley says a mother's love instantly set in.
"You just love somebody so much, just like that," she said.
"This right here is a miracle baby," Dawn's husband, Bob, said.
Bob says New Year's Day or not, all they cared about was a healthy baby.
"Just wanted her to be healthy, that was it," he said. "Make sure all fingers and toes were there and she was a healthy kid, that's all that mattered to us."
Proud of his new daughter, and proud of his loving wife.
"I can't ask for a better person, she's the best partner you could ask for."
The first baby in Huntington born on New Year's Day actually was in St. Mary's Hospital, where doctors delivered a baby boy around 3:00 am.
