Two women are dead and two others injured when a van hits a train in Wayne County.
The accident happened early this morning just north of Wayne along Route 152.
According to the Sheriff's Department, the vehicle slammed into the 74th car of the train shortly after 5am. Investigators say skid marks on the road show the driver of the van tried stopping, but couldn't avoid the accident. A witness also says the flashing red lights at the crossing were working.
Sheriff Dave Pennington says the driver, 38-year-old Samantha Fields and 41-year-old Alberta Lewis died at the scene. 17-year-old Kayla Frye and Fields' 16-year-old daughter Abbie are in critical conditional at a Huntington hospital.
