The State Public Service Commission is recommending a rate increase for most of the state's natural gas companies.
The groups chief judge has proposed increases of up to 38 percent.
Consumer advocates say that could mean an increase of about $53.00 a month for Mountaineer Gas customers, and $62.00 a month for Equitable customers.
If approved, the interim rates would go into effect November 1st.
