A parade is as American as apple pie. So, there is no better place than a parade on Main Street to talk to people about the troubles on Wall Street.

James Anderson said he's accepted tougher times are ahead. But's he not worrying about the financial mess on Wall Street.

"It is out of my control anyway," he said. "I just do the best I can and go on."

The Dow Jones Industrial average lost nearly 20% of it's value this week -- over 1800 points. All this despite the passage of a $700 billion bailout plan by the government.

Mozalla Miller said after losing money in the market last year she took out her money around January. Now, she's glad she did.

"I didn't want to lose anymore money," Miller said.

Ruby Eagle believes Americans need to learn to be financially responsible. Her parents lived through the Great Depression and Ruby said she learned how to handle her finances from them. Ruby believes younger Americans don't save enough and spend too much. She believes people need to save more and learn to live within their means.

"Tear up those credit cards," Eagle said.

But Ruby feels things will eventually get better. And that optimism is as American as apple pie too.
